Paladin Arena Talent Specs
June 20, 2008 by Zuggy
When I look at talent specs for arena I’m not trying to find the most entertaining or bizarre spec that will still be semi-effective, I want only to provide the best specs so you too can raise your game to the same level that serious World of Warcraft players have risen to. So if you thought you’d find information on how to make protection or retribution paladins work in arena here, I’m sorry, they simply are not viable at high end arena play. If you have taken the time to level a paladin to 70 then you should be fully aware that you are going to spend a lot of time healing, this holds true for arena.
Because of this many people consider paladin to be one of the easiest linear classes you can play, which for all intents and purposes is probably true. However, their linear play style also makes them incredible at what they do best, heal.
Holy 41/20/0
The spec is very straight forward, it focusing on increasing your ability to heal and do so for incredible lengths of time. The variations available are somewhat limited, though you may choose to swap some points around depending on your specific play style. Unfortunately, even your ability to customize the spec is somewhat limited. You basically have one extra point that you may put in Purifying Power or Blessed Life, the choice will be nothing more than preference and you aren’t going to notice a huge difference either way.
Many players may feel locked into healing as a paladin, which I’d have to agree with. There isn’t much room for deviation in your talent spec, the current 41/20/0 is so powerful at the moment that you simply have little choice in the matter of spec. That said, don’t become too discouraged, as such a linear class blizzard has allowed paladins to remain atop the healer hierarchy and function as the primary healer on most 5v5 teams.
