Elemental Shaman Arena Video

June 20, 2008 by Zuggy

Throughout my time playing World of Warcraft I’ve watched a lot of videos. From the explosive rogue stun lock styles of Pre-BC to the skill of expert mage videos with their kiting and crowd control. The vast majority of videos all centered on individual accomplishments, but WoW-BC has brought a whole new realm into the game, teamwork.

Arena is now the only respected form of PvP and as result a huge increase in the number of team centered arena videos have been released. Of all the videos I’ve ever had the pleasure of viewing the 5v5 arena compilation of Rag Dolled has been without question the best.

This 5 man team which has taken Battlegroup 9 by storm since the beginning of season 2 once hailed from my own server, Smolderthorn, and it really is an honor to say I once played with and against some of the World’s finest talents. This isn’t an arena video where an opponent simply explodes in the first 30 seconds, it’s a video which truly shows the intensity and precise nature of World of Warcraft 5v5.

The intricate strategy and coordination executed by the team is simply mesmerizing to watch. There is no panic in their actions, everything is planned and executed on their timetable. As with any traditional team it’s all about control, all about the ability to simply outlast the damage and mana pools of the opposing team. You won’t find explosive damage or insta-kills in this video, but you will find out why teamwork and coordination is of absolute most importance in arena, and why it’s not always about how fast you can “run a train” to get the first player dead.

Video: Rag Dolled – Kollektiv (elemental shaman) PoV
Team: Rag Dolled
Server: Tichondrius
Battlegroup: Bloodlust AKA 9
Roster:

  • Ohnoes – Mage – Frost 17/0/44
  • Nemez – Warrior – Mortal Strike 35/23/3
  • Kollektiv – Shaman – Elemental 40/0/21
  • Brazetina – Priest – Holy 28/33/0
  • Kasj – Paladin – Holy 40/21/0
  • Njolol – Warrior – Mortal Strike 35/23/3

Style: Traditional outlast style taking advantage of heavy crowd controls and the constant pressure of a strong warrior wearing down the opposing teams mana pool. Look for the excellent timing of Kollektiv’s lightning bolts and his constant vigilance of his own totem placement as well as the enemies.
